Health and Wellness Guarantee — Kittens For Home
We raise our Persian, Maine Coon, Ragdoll, and Bengal kittens in-home with proactive
veterinary care. The following protections apply to every kitten placed, regardless of breed.
1. Veterinary Examination
The Buyer must take their kitten to a licensed veterinarian for a full health check within seven (7) days
of receiving the kitten. If a serious congenital defect or underlying illness is found, Kittens For Home will issue a full refund of the purchase price, including transportation costs, upon safe return
of the kitten.
2. Breed-Specific Coverage
All four breeds we raise can be predisposed to certain genetic conditions. Persian:
Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD) and Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (HCM). Maine Coon: HCM, hip dysplasia,
Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA). Ragdoll: HCM. Bengal: Progressive Retinal Atrophy (PRA-b), Pyruvate
Kinase (PK) deficiency, HCM. Kittens For Home provides a written health guarantee against serious
congenital defects. If a covered condition is diagnosed by two (2) licensed veterinarians within the
guarantee window, the Buyer may return the kitten for either a full refund of the purchase price
(including transportation costs) or a replacement kitten of equal value from a future litter.
3. Vaccinations & Deworming
Every kitten leaves our cattery current on age-appropriate FVRCP vaccinations and has been dewormed.
Health records will be provided at time of placement. The Buyer is responsible for continuing the
veterinarian-recommended vaccination schedule after placement.
4. Communicable Diseases
If the kitten is diagnosed with a communicable illness within the first fourteen (14) days of arrival,
Kittens For Home will refund the full purchase price, including transportation costs, upon the
kitten's return.
5. CFA / TICA Registration
Persian, Maine Coon, and Ragdoll kittens are sold with CFA (Cat Fanciers' Association)
registration paperwork. Bengal kittens are sold with TICA (The International Cat Association) registration
paperwork. Unless otherwise agreed in writing, kittens are sold on a spay/neuter
contract (limited registration). Breeding rights require a separate written agreement and
additional fee.
6. Spay / Neuter Requirement
Kittens placed on limited registration must be spayed or neutered by the age recommended by your
veterinarian, typically before 6 months of age. The Buyer agrees to provide written confirmation from
their veterinarian once the procedure has been completed.
7. Transportation and Delivery
Shipping: If the kitten is shipped, the Buyer is responsible for transportation
expenses. Kittens For Home uses trusted, USDA-compliant pet transport services and provides
tracking details for peace of mind.
Pickup: If the Buyer chooses in-person pickup, all remaining balance must be paid in
full before or at the time of pickup.
8. Cost and Payment
The full purchase price must be paid prior to delivery or pickup. Any unpaid balance will delay release
of the kitten until payment is completed.
9. Buyer's Responsibilities
The Buyer agrees to provide lifelong, responsible care including a high-quality diet, fresh water, a
clean litter box, safe indoor housing, appropriate grooming for the kitten's breed (daily brushing for
longhair Persians, Maine Coons, and Ragdolls; gentle daily eye cleaning for flat-faced Persians and
Exotics; regular interactive play and enrichment for active Bengals), and routine veterinary visits.
All kittens are placed as indoor-only companions. The Buyer must comply with all applicable local and
state regulations regarding cat ownership.
This agreement represents the full understanding between Kittens For Home and the Buyer. Any
changes must be made in writing and signed by both parties. Questions: info@kittensforhome.com or (614) 370-6038.
