Return & Refund Policy

1. Deposit Policy
A $500 deposit is required to reserve your kitten. The deposit is structured as follows:
- $100 is refundable if the buyer changes their mind before the kitten is ready for pickup or delivery
- $400 is non-refundable and covers reservation, care, and administrative costs associated with holding your kitten
2. Health-Related Returns
If a licensed veterinarian confirms a serious congenital defect within the reporting window outlined in our health guarantee, you are eligible for a full refund of the purchase price. To qualify:
- The condition must be confirmed by a licensed veterinarian with written documentation
- The report must be submitted within the applicable reporting window
- The kitten must be returned to Kittens For Home in good health and condition
The Buyer has 2 months (40 business days) from the date of receiving the kitten to have the kitten examined by a licensed veterinarian of the Buyer's choice. If during this period the Buyer discovers any hereditary health issues — such as Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD) or Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (HCM) — that Kittens For Home was unaware of and had not previously disclosed prior to the purchase date, Kittens For Home will be responsible to either replace the kitten with a Persian or Persian kitten of similar value or refund the Buyer's purchase price in exchange for the kitten. Kittens For Home shall not owe the Buyer any refund unless the kitten is returned to us for our veterinarian to verify the hereditary condition.
3. Communicable Illness
If your kitten is diagnosed with a communicable illness within 14 days from the date of delivery, you are eligible for a full refund of the purchase price, including transport costs. The kitten must be returned to Kittens For Home in order to receive the refund. Veterinary documentation confirming the diagnosis is required.
4. Non-Refundable Situations
Refunds are not available in the following circumstances:
- Buyer remorse — change of heart after the kitten has been delivered or picked up
- Minor cosmetic preferences — coat color, pattern, or eye color did not meet the buyer's expectations after delivery
- Missed reporting timelines — health concerns reported after the applicable guarantee window has closed
- Failure to follow care instructions — health issues resulting from improper diet, grooming neglect, inadequate litter-box hygiene, or failure to follow the veterinarian-recommended care plan
- Outdoor exposure — illness or injury resulting from allowing the kitten unsupervised outdoor access; our kittens are placed as indoor-only cats
5. Replacement Kitten Option
In situations where you are eligible for a refund, you may instead opt for a replacement kitten of equal value from our next available litter. This option is available at no additional cost and is subject to litter availability and timing.
6. Refund Processing
Approved refunds are processed within 5–10 business days and will be returned via the original payment method. You will receive confirmation once the refund has been initiated.
7. Return Process
If you need to initiate a return, please follow these steps:
- Contact us first — reach out to discuss your situation before making any arrangements
- Provide veterinary documentation — all health-related returns require written documentation from a licensed veterinarian
- Return the kitten safely — the kitten must be returned to Kittens For Home in good health. We will coordinate safe transport arrangements with you
